Yeah, let’s just cut the fin off the shark first and throw it alive but mutilated back into the ocean. To suffocate or be eaten alive. Shark finning could mean the extinction of many shark species. And even if you’re still going to be selfish, that means no more soup!

At this day and age, I am surprised this Shark Fin recipe is still being published. Sharks are endangered and even restaurants in New York’s Chinatown no longer serve shark fin soup (never thought that would happen but glad it finally did).

Please help the 50 million sharks killed per year just for soup. If we keep killing sharks our eco system will be destroyed. 🙁

Stop eating shark fin soup!! Stop publishing recipes and stop promoting it. It is detrimental to the ocean equilibrium. How dumb of a world are we. Why do people persist in serving it for weddings and events?

There are definitely many who kill sharks simply for the fins, and I agree this is wrong; however; there are those who catch sharks and utilize every piece of the shark for consumption, AND make sure the species they are catching are not on the endangered list. There are many types of sharks I have caught myself that are officially labeled as "least concern" on the endangered list. Do your homework and don’t be ignorant & quick to label something as "morally wrong".

Thanks for this great Shark Fin soup recipe. Every once in a while we catch a nice eating shark and end up throwing out the carcus with fins attached. Now we can consume the entire catch ?

Sharks can be legally caught in Florida, we can then use the fins as well as the meat of course. It is very good. Thank you for posting the recipe, I was excited to have it for my legal shark!
